When we built the 660 house, we hadn’t had the girls yet and our lot was small-ish, so “building up” was necessary.  That meant our upstairs consisted of two bedrooms with a Jack-and-Jill bathroom that also opened into the hallway, the adult Rec/Poker/Pool Table room, and attic space for future expansion. One thing we wanted to change after having the girls and living in the 660 house was to move the Rec Room downstairs.

A & S’s bedrooms at the 660 house. Really, these were their nurseries!
We expanded into the 660 attic to make the girls a playroom and the Jack-and-Jill was the only bathroom upstairs.

This time around, with so much more land, we were able to spread out a little more and move the adult Rec Room downstairs. That means that the upstairs in this house will be the girls’ area. (Let’s see if they can keep their toys upstairs. ) Each girl gets her own bedroom and bathroom and we’ll have a playroom for them to share. There is also attic space for future expansion.

This second floor also has a fun little “bonus” room that we are all excited about…and I have to give credit to the hubby for this one! He noticed that the area above the front door, which is sometimes used as a decorating ledge downstairs was going to be huge and it’s situated directly between the two girls’ bedrooms.  So we had another wall framed in, we are installing sliding pocket doors and the girls have this “bonus” space that they are thrilled about.

I just tossed this one in because it’s so cute! They are standing in the front entryway.

Well, I’m literally months late on this post, but I’m trying to catch up! So many things are happening…but it’s still moving so slowly!
